Collina Street is a proposed new-build residential development of 108 ‘platinum’ homes in Maryhill. Located on a long-vacant site between the Maryhill Locks and the River Kelvin, this mixed-tenure residential development seeks to regenerate derelict land into a new neighbourhood of highly energy-efficient homes offering incredible views across Glasgow.

Carbon Futures has been appointed via the Link Group Framework to support the wider design team in the delivery of this project from RIBA Stage 1 through to completion. As Energy and Sustainability Consultants, we will provide reports on Energy Strategy Analysis, Statement on Energy and Daylight & Sunlight Analysis during RIBA Stage 1-3. As work progresses into RIBA Stage 4, we will then produce an Energy Compliance Report and perform our role as Approved Certifier of Design for Section 6 (Energy). Our team of consultants will also carry out SAP Calculations, U-value Calculations and Psi-value Calculations, providing important data to achieve energy efficiency, prevent heat loss, and compliance with the 2026 Building Standards. Our role concludes at completion with the provision of Energy Performance Certificates and Sustainability Labels.

The proposed Maryhill Housing development has been designed to achieve Aspect Platinum Level 1 (Direct Greenhouse Gas Emissions) by using heat pumps as the preferred form of zero direct emissions heating system. It will also achieve Aspect Silver Level 2 (Energy for Space Heating) and Aspect Silver Level 3 (Energy for Water Heating) by utilising enhanced fabric and Waste Water Heat Recovery (WWHR). The project will also comply with Aspect Silver Level 4-8 ensuring all plots achieve a Silver Active Sustainability Label as a minimum.

Through the inclusion of Mechanical Extract Ventilation (MVHR) and Photovoltaic Panels (PV), the homes will have excellent indoor air quality and reduced energy bills ensuring the wellbeing of the future residents.
