______ Project Overview

One of Glasgow City Council’s Transformational Regeneration Areas (TRA), Red Road in Barmulloch is set to be transformed into a thriving new housing community of 445 energy efficient homes, complete with landscaping and amenity spaces.

The proposed £100M+ mixed-tenure development will redevelop the vacant land between Red Road, Broomfield Road and Petershill Drive, on the former site of the Red Road tower blocks.

Subject to planning approval, the project is expected to commence on site in 2028.

______ Our Scope

As the appointed Energy and Sustainability Consultants, Carbon Futures will deliver a wide range of specialist consultancy services including Feasibility Report, Statement on Energy, Energy Strategy Analysis, Energy Compliance Report, Approved Certifier of Design, SAP Calculations, Home Energy Model (HEM) Calculations, Energy Performance Certificates, Sustainability Labels and Psi-value Calculations.

______ Details

The Red Row development is required to achieve Aspect Platinum Level 1 (by default of having a Zero Direct Emissions Heating System) and Aspect Silver Level 2-8, together with a minimum 20% Low & Zero Carbon Technology (LZCGT) abatement, as required by Glasgow City Council’s SG5 Resource Management policy.

Due to the project still being in the early design stages, the fabric and energy strategies have yet to be devised for this new-build housing development. Carbon Futures will play an active role in this part of the design process, providing a comprehensive energy strategy analysis backed with data to inform decision-making.
