Springfield Road is a new-build residential development of 159 dwellings, located adjacent to the Commonwealth Games Athletes Village, Emirates Arena and Celtic Park in Glasgow’s East End. Developed by the Wheatley Group, the housing mix for this project consists of 135 one, two and three bedroom flats and 24 three and four bedroom houses including wheelchair accessible homes. The flats range from 4-storey to 6-storey, while the townhouses are 3-storey.
Carbon Futures has been appointed via the Lot 10 Energy Advisor framework to provide Energy & Sustainability consultancy during all RIBA work stages ensuring the development meets Wheatley’s design requirements for energy performance, whilst also complying with NPF4 and SG5 Resource Management under planning policy, and the 2025 Building Standards for Building Warrant.
The Springfield Road development will include the following features to boost energy efficiency.

Enhanced fabric performance

District Heating through connection to the existing Commonwealth Games Athletes Village Energy Centre

A mix of Centralised and Decentralised Mechanical Extract (cMEV/dMEV) Systems

Waste Water Heat Recovery for compliance with Aspect Silver Level 3 (Energy for Water Heating).
