______ Project Overview

Carbon Futures is supporting hub West Scotland in the delivery of East Dunbartonshire Council’s Affordable Housing Investment Programme Phase 2 (AHIP 2).

This initiative seeks to develop brownfield and vacant sites throughout various locations in East Dunbartonshire and will see the construction of a significant number of Passivhaus certified affordable homes.

The proposed housing mix includes a range of 2 to 8 person units consisting of semi-detached and terraced homes together with cottage flats and apartments for varying needs, a proportion of which are fully accessible dwellings.

It is East Dunbartonshire Council’s aspiration to develop sustainable, zero carbon and energy efficient homes, with the design of these units set to deliver high-quality buildings that will reduce operational carbon emissions and tenant running costs.

______ Our Scope

As the appointed Passivhaus consultants across numerous sites, Carbon Futures will be responsible for calculating compliance with Passivhaus design criteria, ensuring the homes achieve Passivhaus Classic certification as a minimum.

In addition to this, we will assume responsibility for Section 6 (Energy) compliance, including provision of our Approved Certifier of Design (Energy) service.
