______ Project Overview
This joint venture between New Gorbals Housing Association and Urban Union will transform the former site of the Glasgow Coliseum Theatre into a 64-unit affordable housing development comprising a mix of one, two and three-bedroom properties. A total of four blocks will be constructed, centred around a landscaped courtyard. The development has been designed by Reiach and Hall Architects and will be constructed by Urban Union
______ Our Scope
As the appointed Energy Consultant on this affordable housing project, Carbon Futures was responsible for developing the proposed energy strategy.

Our work on the project also involved calculating bespoke steel frame Psi-values to accurately account for thermal bridging, together with general compliance services including Energy Design Analysis, SAP Calculations, Approved Certifier of Design, and at completion, Energy Performance Certificates

The Coliseum development is designed to achieve Gold Hybrid under Glasgow City Council’s SG5 Resource Management Policy.
Each individual dwelling has an Exhaust Air Source Heat Pump system from NIBE Energy Systems Ltd to provide heating, domestic hot water and ventilation in one combined system.
Dwellings also benefit from Waste Water Heat Recovery systems to provide an element of hot water from waste grey water.
