We are Hiring______
______Passivhaus (PHPP) Modeller / Consultant
As the impacts of the climate emergency and the fuel crisis become ever more apparent in daily life, the need to design homes and buildings that minimise energy demand has never been more critical. This growing awareness is driving an increase in developments targeting the Passivhaus standard, alongside a rising demand to model non-Passivhaus projects in PHPP to better understand and manage operational energy performance.
Our Passivhaus Consultancy service supports project design teams from early concept through to project completion, and in-use, ensuring developments achieve Passivhaus Certification in a cost-effective and efficient manner. We provide expert guidance and reassurance at every stage of the Passivhaus compliance process. At present, we are delivering several Certified Passivhaus developments, including new-build residential projects totalling over 200 homes across six sites, as well as an education facility.
We are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join the Carbon Futures team, delivering detailed building energy modelling across a wide range of projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on Passivhaus projects at scale within a progressive company that values collaboration and professional development.
The role requires a strong working knowledge of the Passivhaus Planning Package (PHPP), DesignPH and PHribbon, alongside other relevant calculation tools and methodologies. We also undertake TM54 Operational Energy modelling using PHPP for non-Passivhaus projects.
If you are looking for an exciting new challenge, we would love to hear from you.
______Who You’ll Be Working For
We are passionate about building performance and driven by a commitment to support the decarbonisation of the built environment at every opportunity.
We are data-driven. Our team of industry experts undertake detailed modelling and analysis to optimise building performance and promote best-practice solutions across a wide range of sectors.
We actively support the transition to net zero, working across new-build developments and deep retrofit projects. Our breadth of knowledge and technical expertise enables us to deliver valuable and efficient solutions for projects throughout the UK.
______The Role Profile
We are seeking a Certified Passivhaus Designer / Consultant to join our team. The Passivhaus (PHPP) Modeller / Consultant role is ideally suited to an individual with a technical background in architecture or engineering, with experience delivering domestic and non-domestic new-build and retrofit projects designed to a low-energy, low-carbon Passivhaus standard.
Experience in producing PHPP models in line with CIBSE TM54 methodology to assess operational energy performance would be desirable.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the key factors influencing building energy performance and building physics, including fabric design, thermal bridging, ventilation strategies, airtightness, overheating risk, heating and domestic hot water systems, and renewable technologies.
A good working knowledge of Climate Change and Net Zero guidance such as UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard, Net Zero Public Sector Building Standard, LETI Climate Emergency Design Guide and the UKGBC Net Zero Carbon Framework, and the ability to apply this guidance to building performance modelling, is also essential.
