We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Graduate Engineering Consultant to join our team.  The successful candidate will have the opportunity to support the delivery of a wide range of developments throughout the country.  This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to be part of an ambitious company, whilst working in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

Candidates should be educated to at least degree level in an engineering / sustainability related subject.

Essential Experience & Skills

  • Engineering background with a good understanding of building physics, mechanical building services and low carbon technologies;
  • Understanding of Section 6 and Part L building regulations;
  • Competent in Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • An understanding of CAD/BIM or similar tools;
  • A passion for tackling Climate Change;
  • Ability to communicate effectively to clients and peers both inside and outside the business;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Fluent spoken and written English is essential as is your eligibility to work in the UK

Desirable Experience & Skills

  • Experience using Dynamic Simulation Modelling (IES Virtual Environment);
  • Previous placement or work experience in the construction industry;
  • Experienced in undertaking SBEM calculations for new-build non-domestic buildings;
  • Understanding of BREEAM and other environmental assessment methodologies;
  • Report writing and presentation skills;
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Performing the following calculations on a wide variety of projects:
    • Building energy consumption
    • CO2 emissions
    • Daylight, sunlight and shading
    • Overheating studies
    • Renewable and low-carbon technologies studies
  • Producing technical reports;
  • Supporting with research and development tasks to ensure the business continues to be aware of innovative technologies and updates to industry policy and guidance;
  • Managing your own workload to ensure tasks are delivered on time;
  • The successful candidate will receive in-house training
