Carbon Futures to support development of 143 homes in Craigbank

Project News / September 03 2015

Carbon Futures have been appointed as energy consultants for the development of 143 new build dwellings on the site of the former Craigbank housing estate in Nitshill, Glasgow.

Designed by Mast Architects for Sanctuary Scotland Housing Association, the development incorporates a mix of detached, semi-detached and terraced housing spread evenly throughout the site.

As part of the development, Glasgow City Council and Construction Scotland Innovation Centre are to provide funding towards a comprehensive monitoring and evaluation programme of eight dwellings designed to enhanced levels of energy and sustainability.

As energy consultants, Carbon Futures will develop the low carbon strategy for selected plots to achieve compliance with Section 7 Sustainability Silver, Gold and Platinum levels with a further two plots to be designed to Passivhaus standards.

Work expected to start in spring next year with an estimated completion of winter 2017.
