York Way consists of 91 new-build affordable homes and a community center located within Islington’s existing York Way Estate for City of London Corporation (City Corporation) in response to the urgent demand for social housing within London.
The design proposes three small apartment buildings along York Way with a fourth building, mostly comprised of two-storey three-bedroom maisonettes, built on the eastern side of the estate near Caledonian Park.
Carbon Futures were appointed by Sweco UK to assess various building junctions in order to determine a Psi-value for each junction for use within their SAP Calculations. This assessment also included calculating the Temperature Factor for each junction in order to assess the risk of surface condensation and mould growth.
The calculations have been performed in accordance with BS EN ISO 10211:2017 – Thermal Bridges in Building Construction & BR497 (2nd Edition) – Conventions for Calculating Linear Thermal Transmittance & Temperature Factors.
