The Urban Eden is a modern residential development that will transform the Lochend South area of Edinburgh.
Designed by EMA Architecture + Design for Places For People, the development is currently being delivered on-site by ISG Plc and will consist of a mix of 205 apartments, maisonettes and townhouses.
The development will involve a mix of timber and steel frame construction which reaches from 3 to 9 storeys. The timber frame construction element will be fully off-site manufactured using CCG OSM’s open panel timber solution providing greater control over air-tightness, reduced cold bridging and improved overall thermal efficiency.
At completion, the development will achieve Bronze level for sustainability under Section 7 of the Scottish Building Regulations. Measures taken to achieve this standard can be found on the Scottish Building Standards website.
As energy consultants, Carbon Futures will provide Design Certification support to ensure that the design meets the requirements of Section 6 (Energy) of the Scottish Building Standards.
We will also offer a range of additional services including Building Regulation Compliance and Energy Performance Certification.
